Coaching FAQs

What are your qualifications and experience as a coach?

I am trained through the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI), one of the most respected and established coach training organizations globally. CTI's methodology is recognized for its transformative approach that focuses on the whole person. I have completed the CTI Fundamentals training and am actively working toward full certification. This means I'm equipped with all the powerful coaching tools and techniques while I accumulate the required coaching hours for formal accreditation. The coaching you receive delivers professional-level results—the certification process simply requires documenting a specific number of coaching hours.

How long are the coaching sessions and how frequently do we meet?

Our coaching relationship begins with a complimentary 45-minute Chemistry/Discovery Session. This allows us to explore your goals, answer questions, and determine if we're a good fit for each other. Upon deciding to work together, we'll start with a 90-minute Designing the Alliance session. This crucial first paid session establishes our coaching relationship, clarifies expectations, and creates a customized framework for our work together. Regular coaching sessions are 60 minutes and typically scheduled every other week (twice monthly). This cadence provides time to implement insights and actions between sessions while maintaining momentum. Coaching packages are available in 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month commitments. These timeframes allow us to work deeply on specific areas of your life and measure your progress over a meaningful period. Many clients choose to continue beyond their initial package as they experience benefits and identify new areas for growth.

How much do your coaching services cost?

The Chemistry/Discovery Session is completely free with absolutely no obligation—my priority is ensuring you find the right coaching relationship, whether that's with me or someone else. For specific pricing information, please contact me directly. I offer flexible payment options to accommodate different financial situations. In general, payment is required prior to our coaching sessions, and packages offer better value than individual sessions.

How do we measure progress or success in our coaching relationship?

We start by setting clear goals at the beginning of your coaching package. We'll figure out what success looks like for you, with some concrete ways to track progress as well as those "feeling" measures that tell you things are shifting. After each session, you'll have specific actions or challenges that build toward your bigger goals. These small steps give you regular wins and keep the momentum going. Throughout our work together, we'll take time to look at how far you've come—celebrating your wins, learning from the bumps, and adjusting course as needed. This intentional check-in process helps you notice changes that might otherwise slip by in the busyness of life. You'll have plenty of input in designing what's possible for you and how we'll track your journey, making sure the measures actually matter to you and keep you motivated.

How do we conduct our sessions (in-person, phone, video call)?

I primarily work via video call, which gives us the convenience of meeting from anywhere while still maintaining that face-to-face connection that enriches our coaching. If you're in the Farnborough, UK area, we can arrange in-person sessions. Phone sessions are also an option if you prefer or if circumstances make that necessary. Each format has its own benefits, and we can talk about which will work best for you.

What coaching approach or methodology do you use?

I practice Co-Active Coaching, developed by CTI. This approach is built on the understanding that clients are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. The "Co" represents being in collaboration, while the "Active" refers to taking purposeful action. Co-Active Coaching is distinct because it: Works with the whole person—mind, body, spirit, and emotions Focuses on transformation rather than just transactions or goals Balances doing (achieving outcomes) with being (personal growth) Creates a powerful alliance between coach and client Emphasizes curiosity and discovery rather than advice-giving

What happens in a typical coaching session?

While each session is uniquely tailored to your needs and circumstances, the essential structure creates a space for intentional focus on what matters most to you. During our sessions, you'll have the opportunity to step back from daily reactivity and consciously examine important areas of your life. Through powerful questioning and active listening, I'll help you gain clarity, uncover blind spots, and generate new perspectives. You determine the focus of each session, but I'll guide the process to ensure we move beyond surface-level discussion into meaningful exploration and actionable insights. The most successful clients come prepared to engage fully, remain curious, and be willing to experiment with new approaches. Sessions typically include: Establishing what you want to focus on Exploring your current reality Identifying limiting beliefs or obstacles Discovering new possibilities Creating actionable commitments Celebrating progress and learnings

Do you offer a free consultation or discovery call?

Yes! I offer a complimentary 45-minute Chemistry/Discovery Session. This session gives you the opportunity to: Experience my coaching style firsthand Discuss your goals and what you hope to achieve through coaching Ask questions about the process Determine if we have the right connection for productive coaching This no-obligation session helps ensure we're a good match before making any commitment. You deserve a coach who resonates with your style and needs.

What kind of results can I expect?

I've seen amazing shifts happen for people even in a single session—suddenly seeing something that's been right in front of them for years, emotional breakthroughs, or clarity about decisions they've been wrestling with for months. Over our time working together, you can expect: Better understanding of yourself and your patterns More ability to make conscious choices that align with what you really want Clearer sense of your priorities and direction Stronger communication in your relationships, both personal and professional More confidence and resilience when things get tough Practical ways to overcome obstacles Real progress toward goals that matter to you How deep and how fast you see results depends on how open you are, how much you put into action between sessions, and your willingness to explore uncomfortable territory. Coaching creates a powerful space for transformation, but you're the one who ultimately shapes the outcomes through your engagement.

What kind of commitment do I need to make to see results?

Simply put, you'll get out what you put in. The coaching package you choose sets the timeframe, but how you engage between sessions really shapes your results. When we design our alliance, we'll talk about what level of commitment feels right and doable for you. This might include: Showing up for all our scheduled sessions Following through on the actions you commit to between sessions Practicing new awareness and behaviours in your everyday life Being honest about challenges when they come up Keeping an open mind to new possibilities I meet you exactly where you are and work with whatever level of commitment you can bring—we'll design our relationship to match that.

What areas/topics do you specialize in?

I am genuinely fascinated by people and human potential, which allows me to effectively coach across various life domains. The Co-Active approach is versatile by design—the tools and methodology work regardless of the specific application. Whether you're seeking growth in your career, relationships, personal development, leadership capabilities, or life transitions, the coaching process adapts to your unique situation. I meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be, regardless of the specific arena.

How long does the coaching relationship typically last?

Coaching packages are structured in 3, 6, or 12-month timeframes. Many clients find that 6 months provides sufficient time to create substantial change while maintaining focus. The relationship continues as long as it remains valuable to you. Some clients achieve their initial goals and conclude coaching, while others discover new areas for growth and continue the journey. We'll regularly evaluate our progress together and decide what arrangement best serves your evolving needs.

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

I firmly believe coaching tools can benefit anyone open to growth and development. The most important prerequisite is an open mind to imagine what might be possible for your life. Coaching is particularly effective if you: Are ready for change but unsure how to achieve it Feel stuck or at a crossroads Want to elevate your performance in career or personal life Seek greater fulfilment or purpose Are willing to be challenged and explore new perspectives Commit to taking action between sessions Unlike therapy (which often focuses on healing past issues), mentoring (receiving guidance from someone more experienced in your field), or consulting (receiving expert advice), coaching focuses on drawing out your own wisdom and catalysing forward movement.

What happens if I need to reschedule or cancel a session?

Life happens! I completely understand that schedules sometimes need to change. I just ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This gives me a chance to offer your slot to someone else. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be considered used, except in genuine emergencies. This policy helps keep our coaching relationship solid and respects both our time commitments.

Is what we discuss confidential?

Absolutely. Confidentiality is essential for effective coaching. I follow the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics, which has strict standards for client confidentiality. There are a few limited exceptions required by law and ethics, which I'll clearly outline in my Terms and Conditions when you sign up. These typically involve situations where there's risk of harm to yourself or others, or legal requirements to report certain information. Beyond these rare exceptions, you can trust that our conversations stay completely private, creating a safe space for you to be totally authentic.

How I can help you?

In essence, coaching can help with anything you're feeling stuck around.

Here are a few examples:

What is personal
coaching?

It's a conciously created relationship of equals.

Personal coaching is a powerful approach to development that focuses on enhancing all aspects of your life. Unlike other professional relationships, coaching is unique.

Unlike mentoring, where an experienced person shares knowledge in a teacher-student dynamic, or consulting, where experts assess situations and recommend solutions based on specialised knowledge, coaching takes a different approach.

As your coach, I don't provide answers  - I ask the questions that help you discover your own wisdom. We partner to explore possibilities and create meaningful change, with no "problem to fix," only topics to explore with curiosity. I bring expertise in the coaching process, while you bring expertise in your own life, creating a partnership that transforms how you approach your life, work, and relationships.

The coaching journey equips you with powerful tools and perspectives that extend far beyond your sessions - creating lasting change that continues to unfold throughout your life.

The power of questions

The heart of coaching lies in asking powerful questions that spark insight and clarity. These questions invite you to pause, reflect deeply, and often reveal perspectives you hadn't considered.

Below are examples of the kinds of questions we might explore in our coaching journey - questions designed to illuminate your values, aspirations, and potential paths forward.

"Coaching is unlocking a person's potential to maximize their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them." - Sir John Whitmore

What's the story you're telling yourself about this situation?

Where are you saying 'yes' when you really want to say 'no'?

What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?

The difference between
Therapy and Coaching

In coaching, we don't look back.
When should I go to Therapy?
  • Consider therapy when you're struggling with past traumas, mental health issues, or emotional wounds that are preventing normal functioning in your daily life.

When should I contact a Coach?
  • Reach out to a coach when you want to act with intentionality rather than just going through the motions, seeking to achieve meaningful goals in your present circumstances.

While therapy typically focuses on healing past wounds and processing unresolved traumas to help you return to a baseline level of functioning, coaching meets you where you are today and partners with you to build the life you envision.

Therapy often addresses historical issues, whereas coaching directs its attention toward growth, potential, and creating the future you desire.

Many people benefit from both therapy and coaching at the same time. Life rarely fits into neat categories - you might need therapy's healing touch in some areas while simultaneously working with a coach to intentionally design other aspects of your life.

These approaches complement rather than replace each other, addressing different needs on your journey.
